A doggy door appears to have been the entryway for a burglar who broke into a Bennet house and stole $4,932 worth of musical equipment last month.
Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said the break-in, reported Saturday, is believed to have taken place between Oct. 16 and Oct. 30.
He said the caretaker of the house reported that someone got in through a doggy door and stole 10 microphones, a $2,500 40th anniversary Les Paul-edition Gibson guitar in its case and several other items.
No physical evidence was found during an investigation, according to a sheriff's office report.
