Ford Theatre 2007
The
story goes that Chet Atkins had been recording alot of Jazz influenced
music, and wanted to wind his way back to country music. And Chet Atkins
asked John D. Loudermilk to write him a song. Windy and Warm have a
little of everything in it. It's a little bluesy. Have a little of
country and a little bit of Jazz in it.
If
you want to learn to play the song Windy and Warm on guitar. Then look
up how to play the technique fingerstyle. "Boom-Chick" That's what Tommy
Emmanuel calls it. Thumb independence is also a name for it.

John D wrote it, but never recorded it. John tells about writing the song with Chet Atkins and performs the song.
June 23, 2007, Ford Theatre, Nashville TN, in the Series Poets And Prophets, organised by the Country Music Hall Of Fame And Museum.
