Tommy Emmanuel - Doyle Dykes and Lizzie Watkins
Tommy Emmanuel, Doyle Dykes and Lizzie Watkins is here performing together on stage in Raalte 2006.
Tommy Emmanuel and Doyle Dykes is first seen playing the song, or songs are the better way to describe it. They play Yankee Doodle and the tune Dixie together. It's a great guitar trick to be able to play two songs at once. And they sure get the corwd going with it.
Center Stage (Ac3 Dol) Tommy Emmanuel (DVD) $12.99
Gitarre 2000 Doyle Dykes (Audio CD - May 18, 2011) $10.68

Then Lizzie Watkins joins in and the trio sing two songs together. The first song is "I Saw the Light".
The song "I Saw the Light" is a 1948 Gospel song written and first performed by Hank Williams.
The second song they sing is The Water is Wide. The song "The Water Is Wide" (also called "O Waly, Waly") is an English folk song that has been sung since the 1600.
I must say that they did a very beautiful cover of the songs.

Tommy Emmanuel - Doyle Dykes and Lizzie Watkins - I Saw the Light - The Water is Wide - Raalte 2006Some popular lyrics for "The Water is Wide" are within the book Folk Songs For Solo Singers, though many versions have been printed and sung. This one is pretty close to the one they sing.
- The water is wide, I can-not cross o'er.
- And neither have I the wings to fly.
- Build me a boat that can carry two,
- And both shall row, my true love and I.
- A ship there is and she sails the seas.
- She's laden deep, as deep can be;
- But not so deep as the love I'm in
- And I know not if I sink or swim.
- O love is handsome and love is kind
- and loves a jewel while it is new
- but when its old love it growth cold
- And fades away like the morning dew.
: The Water is Wide
- I Cannot get over
- Nor have I Wings
- With which to-o-o fly
- O-o-h give me a boat
- That can carry Two
- We both shall Row
- My friend and I-i-I
(repeat twice in parts with one part higher than the other and then sing in round with group two beginning to sing at the word 'Nor')
