Game Music - Call Of Duty: Black Ops

Because I see myself as a gamer, it's always nice to see when game makers put some extra effort into the music. The band Avenged Sevenfold have now released a new track called "Not Ready To Die" for the game Call of Duty. Also called for short simply COD. Although the song isn't in my taste, I still think that it's something to take note of. Now there have been some very good songs made for games these past years.


Just to mention one, Martin O'Donnell & Michael Salvatori - Unforgotten from the Halo game is one of those songs that really stand out. Well the song was actually made for the Anime of the Halo game called Halo Legends but it is also the main menu song of Halo 3 and it's also sometimes called Never Forget. But anyhow still it's a nice song. And I like it when game makers continue with the trend and do some real game music.


For the band the song Not Ready To Die, is marking their first record with the new drummer Arin Illejay.
The song was released on May 4 an it is part of a downloadable patch for the new Call Of Duty game patch Call Of Duty: Black Ops

Speaking to US rock magazine Revolver about the track, Avenged Sevenfold frontman M.Shadows said it was written and recorded late last year and is actually about "Call Of Duty" itself. He said: "The song is about the game. There's a full back story to what the makers of Call Of Duty been doing for years with their zombies series. I’m a big fan of the game, I play it all the time, so I got caught up in the story. They sent me over the full storyline, so I made sure it was going along the lines of the zombie story."

The track Not Ready To Die is the first song the band have recorded since the drummer Illejay joined the band in January. He replaced former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy that left in December last year.
