Classical Guitar Nylon Strings
I have been posting and talking about the song Struttin' by Jerry Reed alot lately. I see no reason why not to continue, so here is Dr. John Knowles playing Struttin'.
Not too many people have heard of John Knowles. Still John is one of five Certified Guitar Players (CGP for short) with the other four being Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, Steve Wariner, and Jerry Reed. CGP is a title given by Chet Atkins to his friends.
Now John Knowles is not only a great guitar player he have a Ph.D also, making him Dr. John Knowles. Knowles worked for and received his Ph.D. in physics from Texas Christian University, while playing guitar on the side. In 1996 he got his CGP title from his good friend Chet Atkins and in 2004 inducted into the National Thumb Picker's Hall of Fame. John Knowles have won a Grammy and two Emmy nominations.
The video is made by Thom Bresh that's also a great guitar player. John and Thom spent some time together and they ended up making this video. It's kinda funny to watch because they did it in front of a blue screen, so we get to see different backgrounds in this video. It's also not every day we get to see and hear Struttin' being played on a nylon string Classical Guitar.
