Tommy Emmanuel - The Bug

Hi folks,

I was surprised to see that Tommy Emmanuel had come out with a new song called "The Bug".

It's not "official" yet, this video is a sneak peak of that new song by Tommy Emmanuel. The Bug is actually so new it's not even been recorded yet. This video was filmed at a hotel room in the UK this November 2011 and here we get to see Tommy play "The Bug" on his Maton Acoustic Guitar by the window looking out over a pond.

Now listening to the song I can really hear Merle Travis in there and the song Nine Pound Hammer comes to my mind listening to this song The Bug.

Of course Nine Pound Hammer when played by Tommy have a much slower tempo than The Bug however they both have some similarities in fingerpicking guitar style also know as fingerstyle.

Anyhow I guess that because The Bug have not been recorded yet maybe we get to hear a longer version on the albums in the future or maybe this is the "final" version of The Bug. But knowing Tommy and how he always improvises and taking the sound of his guitar and songs to "new levels" seemingly all the time.. As seen in this interview with Tommy Emmanuel for example talking about Windy and Warm. I'm sure this will be the case with this song also. Well give it some time..
