♫ The Story Of The Guitar ♫
Hi folks,
I found this great little documentary made by BBC called The Story Of The Guitar – First Fender Stratocaster In The UK
Now this is only a part of that show they talk about many guitars, but this part here it’s the best one and they talk about the History of the Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar and we get to hear Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch talk about having the 'First' Fender Stratocaster in The UK. But not only that, we get to hear the “very first” made Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar Serial Number 0001 played on which is owned by David Gilmour.
The White Vintage 1954 Fender Stratocaster still have a great guitar sound and David Gilmour really makes it sound nice. It’s nice to see such an old and rare Vintage Electric Guitar played on. I bet most people would have it stored away safe and sound instead, so it’s nice to see a rare guitar being put to use like it should.
David Gilmour plays it clean in this video, I gave it a go too because I liked the tune I heard David play on the video. It makes me want to pick up my Fender Stratocaster right now and play while I’m writing this, it’s makes such a nice clean sound.
Mark Knopler talks about his childhood and we get to hear his story about the Fender Stratocaster, wanting that Red Fender Stratocaster growing up not having enough money t buy one.
John Etheridge share his story about when he first saw The Shadows performing with Fender Stratocasters back in 1961. Paul Day gives some of his insight.
And Pete Townshend talks about how the Electric Guitar added more to music showing Jimi Hendrix playing on his Fender Stratocaster performing Wild Thing.
No other instrument could produce the sound which the Electric Guitar could do. We get to see one of Jimi Hendrix charred Fender Stratocaster's which he set fire to during a performance in London over 40 years ago.
Well you really should not miss out on this great little story about the Strat, I’m off now, I have this urge to play my Fender Strat really, really bad right now.
