♫ Guitar Live Instrumental ♫
Hi folks,
The song first came out 1996 and it was done before the band John Butler Trio was formed. During this time, Butler was usually playing on his own. Completely self funded and made the album Searching for Heritage the cassette tape that John Butler recorded sold three and a half thousand copies and enabled Butler to fund his first CD recording.
This cassette tape is highly sought after by collectors and is very much unavailable other than from second hand dealers. No copies remain for sale and Butler has stressed that it won’t be re-released anytime in his foreseeable future. If you do find the cassette this song Ocean if found on Side Two, Track 5.
Now John Butler is playing here on a acoustic 12 string guitar and you should here that this song is not played in standard tuning. That's because John Butler likes to play in Open C Tuning C G C G C E and you also should see the Capo on the forth fret.
This song is really one of those great instrumentals played on guitar and to make it even better it's performed live on a 12 string acoustic guitar in this video.
And if you like John Butler and 12 string acoustic guitars you should also check out Vicki Genfan and Ulli Boegershausen also.

Oh an I almost forgot, you should definetly not miss Leo Kottke if you like to hear awsome 12 string acoustic guitar music.
